2010 Gloeckner-Turner "Rockpile" Cabernet Sauvignon

Overview

94+ Points - Robert Parker
Best of Class and Best of Show - 2013 Sonoma County Grand Harvest Awards
Double Gold Medal - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Winemaker's Notes

The Gloeckner-Turner vineyard is located at 1,300 feet, high above Lake Sonoma. Wine makers consider this Rockpile AVA to be the perfect area for growing sturdy reds, and is in high demand as there are only a dozen growers in this region. The combination of elevation requirements, extreme terrain and a unique climate, results in clusters with small berries and more intense fruit. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined. 2

Tasting Notes

Dark, rich purple hues with bright edges. Tight red berry fruit, dark bing cherry, light vanilla tunes, and a hint of floral violets. Rich round mouth feel, red cherries and semi sweet chocolate. Bright acid and firm young tannins with a long lingering finish. Drinks well now, but will pay dividends with patience
