Gold Medal - 93 Points - 2014 San Francisco International Wine Competition
In 2005, parcels of our Windacre vineyard were replanted to cabernet sauvignon. Clone 8, 412 and 4 were replanted on the site first planted back in 1890. This single vineyard now consists of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and a little petite verdot. Farmed on the eastern side of the Russian River Valley AVA allows for cool evenings, and warm days with long hang-time on the vine.
Bright red in color with notes of vanilla, blackberry and cherry on the nose. Rich and robust on the palate, soft tannins with essence of chocolate, cassis and red berry all accompanied by a bit of light acidity. This wine will hold for years.
